Hyaluronic acid injectable treatments are used to shape, contour, and add volume to certain areas of your face such as your cheeks, chin and lips. You will pretty much see the effects of the treatment immediately. Most treatments last 12-24 months. We only use gold standard UK and FDA approved fillers which include Juvaderm, Teoxane, Restylane & Belotero. These products and have gone through far more rigorous testing than products just carrying the CE mark. There are around 180 injectable fillers on the market here in the UK but unfortunately these are generally not under strict regulation in the UK, hence it is difficult to know without FDA quality standards whether a product is genuinely safe.
Most of the filler injections only cause tolerable discomfort rather than pain. As your comfort is our priority, we use filler treatments which are mixed with a local anaesthetic. We can also additionally apply a topical anaesthetic numbing cream prior to your procedure if you wish.
Downtime – You may get redness, swelling, lumps or bruising up to a few days after the treatment, so it is advised to leave adequate time to recover before any important events where you wish to look your best. In a few people it may take 2 weeks to subside but if this lasts any longer you should contact Dr Fernando. You should avoid the following for 14 days – saunas, sunbeds, any exposure to extreme changes in temperature.
